Interview

How did you get into singing?
I grew up in a musical family as the youngest, so it is said that I was singing before I could say the first word. I soon realised that I touch people and that my singing is an important part of my life.

What fascinates you about singing?
That you can use it in so many different life situations and express yourself where words fail. It's also something so inspiring for me that keeps me exploring my voice and trying out different styles.

What is central for you when practicing?
Sing! It should be fun and feel good. The exercises should come out of the song so that you can simplify difficult parts and then build on them step by step.

What do you pay particular attention to when teaching?
That I respond to the needs of the singers. No matter how challenging certain songs are, we will find a way to get to where it sounds exactly the way you want it to :-) and that we sing and laugh a lot!

What has been your greatest experience as a singer so far?
I've had countless wonderful moments and experiences, one highlight was playing at Moon&Stars in Locarno, for example. But no matter where I play, I love it when I can look into other people's faces and see their love for music.

Can you accompany yourself? On which instrument?
On the piano.

What else is important in your life besides music?
Good food and lots of sunshine with my favourite people.
