Interview

How did you get to the guitar?
In 2005, I saw the Pink Floyd Live Aid concert. I thought: "Cool, what great music, I want to be able to play the guitar too". And so I started taking lessons.

What fascinates you about the guitar?
Everything, actually. I like the sound, whenever someone plays the guitar, I like to listen. The versatility and the crazy sounds you can get out of it. And it just looks cool too!

What has helped you the most when practising?
It's great when I can play something for someone and bring them joy. That motivates me. And when I hear a certain sound that I like, I really want to find out how to produce it myself.

What do you pay particular attention to when teaching?
It's important that the lessons are fun. If something is too difficult, I try to show an easier way so that it still sounds cool, even if not everything is playable right away.

What has been your greatest experience as a musician so far?
I was often in a concert hall as a teenager and always wished I could be up there on the big stage. When I stood up there on stage for the first time with my own band, it was fantastic.

On which equipment do you prefer to play?
My favourite thing to play is my Fender Telecaster through a Marshall Jubilee. My favourite effects pedal is a fuzzface from Oxfuzz.

What else is important to you in your life besides music?
My family and friends and that everyone is well.
